Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery – Children’s Library Programs

Free activities include Baby Rhyme Time for children aged 0–2 attending with a parent or carer, term-time Storytime for ages 2–4, Crafty Bookworms for ages 4–6 and Brick by Brick LEGO challenges for ages 7–12. School-holiday activities and the annual Summer Reading Quest add more ways to participate, although expressions of interest may be needed for some programs.

KindiLink at Carnarvon Community College

Mayu-Mia Youth Hub

Operated by the Shire of Carnarvon, the hub runs youth-focused programs, workshops, events and activities throughout the year. Youth staff oversee participants’ safety and wellbeing during Shire Youth Services activities and can assist young people to reach further support when needed.

Carnarvon Library & Art Gallery – Teen Library Programs

Young people can register interest in term-based Makers Hub sessions featuring art, craft and STEAM activities. The Homework Hub gives Year 7–12 students study space, free Wi-Fi and reservable tables, while library members may use board games during opening hours.

Ngala – Carnarvon Education & Engagement Program (CEEP)

CEEP works with First Nations young people, parents, carers, families, schools and community stakeholders. Its Carnarvon-based work supports engagement and attainment in education through community-led approaches to barriers affecting school participation.

WA Country Health Service – Child Development Service

Children under 16 who have developmental delays or concerns can access free support across the Carnarvon Health Campus catchment. Families may self-refer without a diagnosis or health-professional referral. An eligible Medicare card and a country WA residential address are required.

Sandy Turtle Supports and Therapies

Carnarvon-based occupational therapy and behaviour support can be delivered through home visits or at schools, workplaces and community sites. Community circles may include music, simple crafts and local walks.

Somerset Health

Based in Carnarvon and serving the Gascoyne and Mid-West, Somerset Health offers occupational therapy and physiotherapy for individuals and families. Family-relevant services include paediatric therapy, assistive technology and functional capacity assessments, plus home or community rehabilitation. WA Country Health Service – Midwest Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service

Located at Carnarvon Health Campus, this clinic supports infants, children and young people up to age 17 whose difficulties suggest serious mental disorder or high risk. Services include assessment, care planning, treatment, case coordination and referrals. Families need to contact the service for an appointment.

CFSS WA – Protective Behaviours Education Service

Qualified facilitators provide free protective-behaviours education for children affected by, or at risk of, sexual abuse, along with education for families and communities. One-to-one and group education, parent and adult training, appointments and referrals are available in Carnarvon, with outreach across the Gascoyne.

CFSS WA – Child Sexual Abuse Therapy Service

Children and young people who have experienced sexual harm or are engaging in harmful sexual behaviours can receive free, confidential therapeutic support and advocacy. Parents may also be supported to understand the impacts and help a child’s recovery.
